Algo Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 23, 2026

Algo is operated by Creative Life Quest, LLC ("Algo," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the Algo Android app and its feed-sharing service handle information when you analyze your feed, discover content, save Algos, create share links, or view an Algo shared by someone else.

1. Screen analysis and information stored on your device

Algo uses screen analysis to learn about the content appearing in your feed and to build a representation of the types of content recommended to you.

Screen analysis begins only after you accept Algo's in-app disclosure and approve Android's screen-sharing request. During an active analysis session, Algo may sample the selected app window or screen, including while Algo is running in the background.

Captured images and recognized text are processed on your device and discarded after processing. Algo does not upload captured screen images or the full recognized text to its sharing service.

Algo may store structured observations in the app's private local storage, including information such as:

  • creator usernames;

  • topics and hashtags;

  • impressions;

  • viewing durations;

  • visible interactions; and

  • information used to explain or generate recommendations.

Saved feeds and preferences are also stored locally on your device.

Algo does not use your captured screens, recognized text, or learned observations to train a general-purpose artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model. They are used to provide and improve your individual Algo experience.

Algo identifies the content that appears during analysis rather than intentionally attempting to determine sensitive characteristics about you. However, content involving subjects such as health, religion, politics, sexuality, or other sensitive topics may appear in your feed and may therefore be reflected incidentally in Algo's observations or recommendation explanations.

If Android gives you the option, we recommend sharing only the app you intend Algo to analyze. Sharing your entire screen may expose notifications or content from other apps to analysis. Algo attempts to avoid sensitive screens, but this filtering may not be perfect. You should stop analysis before entering passwords, payment information, private messages, or other information you do not want analyzed.

You may stop an active analysis session through Algo or Android's screen-sharing controls.

2. Instagram connection and content discovery

Algo allows you to connect Instagram through an Instagram browser session on your device.

Login information that you enter on Instagram's pages is submitted to Instagram. Algo does not send your Instagram password to its sharing service.

Instagram session cookies are stored locally on your device and may be used to request Instagram content. Those session cookies are not stored in Algo's sharing database.

To find and display content, Algo may make requests for creator pages, topics, posts, searches, media, and related content through Instagram and its content providers. These requests may reveal to Instagram the creators or subjects being requested. Instagram and its providers may also receive information normally associated with network requests, such as your IP address, browser or device information, and applicable cookies.

When you use a connected Instagram session, some of this activity may be associated by Instagram with your Instagram account.

Instagram's own collection and use of information is governed by Meta's privacy practices.

Disconnecting Instagram through Algo clears Algo's locally stored Instagram browser session and cache. It does not delete your Instagram account or information independently retained by Instagram or Meta.

3. Creating and sharing an Algo

Creating a share link is optional. You may analyze and save a feed without sharing it.

When you choose to create a shared Algo, the app sends information to Algo's sharing service that may include:

  • the display name you choose for the invitation;

  • selected public post identifiers and links;

  • creator usernames;

  • preview-image links;

  • information about the sources of recommended posts;

  • recommendation explanations or reasons; and

  • an installation identifier used to associate the share with your installation of Algo.

The sharing service stores a snapshot of the shared feed in a Cloudflare D1 database. This allows another person to retrieve the shared Algo even when the sender's phone is offline.

The database stores a hashed representation of the installation identifier for ownership and viewing functions.

Shared post selections and recommendation explanations may reveal or suggest information about your interests, including potentially sensitive topics if such topics appeared in the analyzed feed.

4. Viewing someone else's Algo

When someone opens a shared Algo, the sharing service records information used to administer that viewing session, including:

  • a hashed identifier associated with the viewer's Algo installation;

  • the applicable share identifier;

  • the time the viewing window began; and

  • the time the viewing window expires.

These records allow Algo to enforce the viewing window and provide the sender with a viewer count.

Browsing another person's shared Algo does not retrain or modify that person's Algo. The recipient's browsing choices are not used to alter the shared recommendation profile.

Each installation currently receives a limited viewing window for a shared Algo. The expiration of that viewing window prevents continued access through that session; it does not automatically delete the corresponding database record.

Anyone who receives or obtains a valid share link may be able to open the shared Algo. Recipients may forward the link, take screenshots, or otherwise retain information they were able to view. Algo cannot control copies retained by recipients.

The viewing limit also does not prevent a recipient from separately viewing the original public content on Instagram.

5. Optional analysis reminders

If you enable analysis reminders and grant Android Usage Access, Algo may check app-opening events on your device to determine when you open Instagram.

This processing occurs locally and may operate in the background or after the device restarts.

Algo does not upload your Android app-usage history to its sharing database or maintain a separate remote history of those app-opening events.

Reminders only invite you to begin analysis. They do not automatically start screen analysis and do not replace Android's separate screen-sharing approval.

You may disable reminders in Algo or revoke Usage Access through Android Settings.

6. Technical information and abuse prevention

Algo's sharing service and its hosting providers process technical information necessary to deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and operate the service.

Cloudflare Worker logs may contain information such as:

  • request timestamps;

  • routes and request methods;

  • response status;

  • performance information;

  • IP addresses;

  • country information derived from network requests;

  • request headers; and

  • an installation identifier sent by Algo for share-management requests.

Algo does not request precise device-location permission. However, service providers such as Cloudflare may derive coarse information, such as a country, from an IP address.

Algo also maintains an abuse-prevention record based on an hourly changing hash derived from an IP address, together with request counts and an expiration timestamp. Algo's application database stores the derived hash rather than the raw IP address for this abuse-limiting record.

Expired abuse-limiter records are removed during later qualifying publication requests rather than by a guaranteed immediate deletion process.

7. Service providers

Google ML Kit

Algo uses Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition and image labeling.

According to Google's disclosures for the ML Kit Android SDKs, Google may receive technical and usage information such as device and app information, installation identifiers, performance measurements, configuration information, feature-use events, input and output sizes, and error information.

Algo does not need to upload your captured screen images or full recognized text to Google in order to perform the screen-analysis functions described in this policy.

Google handles information it independently receives under its own privacy practices.

Cloudflare

Algo uses Cloudflare infrastructure, including Workers and D1, to host and operate its sharing service.

Cloudflare processes network and service information needed to deliver, secure, diagnose, and operate the service. This may include IP addresses, request information, logs, security information, and database contents.

Cloudflare may also maintain aggregate service metrics.

Instagram and Meta

Algo communicates with Instagram to retrieve and display Instagram content. Instagram and Meta independently process information associated with those requests under their own terms and privacy practices.

8. Advertising, sale of information, and model training

Algo does not currently display third-party advertising or use advertising SDKs.

Algo does not currently sell personal information or provide personal information to advertisers or data brokers for their own advertising purposes.

Algo does not use your screen-analysis information to train a general-purpose AI or machine-learning model.

If Algo's advertising or data-use practices materially change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate before or when those practices begin.

9. Information Algo does not currently request

Algo does not currently request access to your:

  • precise device location;

  • contacts or address book;

  • phone number;

  • payment information;

  • advertising identifier;

  • microphone;

  • camera; or

  • personal photo or file library.

This does not prevent ordinary network-service providers from receiving technical information such as your IP address when your device communicates with them.

If you contact us by email, we will naturally receive the email address and other information you include in that correspondence.

10. Retention and deletion

Information stored on your device

Learned observations, saved feeds, preferences, and related local information remain in your app's local storage until they are cleared, replaced, or removed.

To erase learned observations and saved Algos, use:

Settings → Customize Feed → Wipe my Algo feed

This does not delete existing online shares and does not disconnect Instagram.

To clear the locally stored Instagram browser session, use:

Settings → Instagram connection → Disconnect

Shared feeds

Shared Algo records stored in D1 do not currently expire automatically after a fixed amount of time.

They may remain stored until you delete them.

To remove sharing information associated with your current Algo installation, use:

Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my sharing data

This deletes from Algo's current application database:

  • active and deactivated shares owned by the current installation;

  • stored invitation names and shared-post information associated with those shares;

  • viewing-window records associated with those shares; and

  • the current installation's viewing records on other shared Algos.

The control also removes the applicable local share-link associations.

It does not erase your locally saved feeds, learned observations, remembered invitation name, Instagram session, or installation key.

Deactivating a share

Deactivating a share link stops future access through that link and clears its stored post list.

Other records associated with the share may remain until you use the sharing-data deletion control.

Deactivating a link is therefore different from deleting your sharing data.

Hosting logs and recovery data

The in-app deletion control removes current application records from D1, but it does not directly delete records already contained in infrastructure logs, service metrics, or D1 recovery history.

Cloudflare currently documents Worker-log retention of 3 days for Workers Free plans and 7 days for Workers Paid plans.

Cloudflare D1's Time Travel recovery system may permit restoration of prior database states for 7 days on Workers Free plans or 30 days on Workers Paid plans.

Cloudflare also makes aggregated Worker metrics available for up to approximately three months.

The precise provider plan or infrastructure configuration applicable at a particular time may change.

Google, Meta, and other independent service providers maintain information according to their own retention practices.

Privacy or support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, maintain appropriate business records, protect the service, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.

11. Uninstalling Algo

Uninstalling Algo or clearing its app data does not automatically delete information already stored by Algo's sharing service.

You should use Delete my sharing data before uninstalling the app or clearing its data if you want the current installation's server-side sharing records deleted.

Algo currently identifies ownership through an installation-specific key rather than through a traditional user account.

If that installation key is lost—for example, after uninstalling or clearing application data—Algo may no longer be able to automatically associate the new installation with older shares.

If you no longer have access to the original installation, contact clqinquiries@gmail.com and provide relevant share links or other information that may help identify the records. We may need to verify that a request concerns information associated with you before taking action.

Do not send us your Instagram password.

It may not always be possible to associate older records with you if sufficient identifying information is unavailable.

12. Information deletion does not affect third parties

Deleting information from Algo does not:

  • remove original Instagram posts;

  • delete information independently retained by Instagram or Meta;

  • erase copies retained by recipients;

  • delete Google ML Kit diagnostic records;

  • immediately erase Cloudflare infrastructure logs or D1 recovery history; or

  • remove information independently held by other service providers.

Requests concerning information independently maintained by those companies should be directed to those companies.

13. Security

Algo's production sharing service uses HTTPS to encrypt information transmitted between the app and its servers.

Local app information is kept in Android app-private storage.

Algo uses installation-based credentials to restrict management of shared feeds.

Shared links are intentionally usable by anyone who possesses the link, so you should share them only with people you want to have access.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security, and Algo cannot prevent a recipient from saving information that has already been displayed to them.

14. Your choices and privacy requests

Depending on how you use Algo, you can:

  • stop screen analysis;

  • decline screen-sharing permission;

  • disable analysis reminders;

  • revoke Android Usage Access;

  • wipe your locally learned feed;

  • disconnect Instagram;

  • deactivate individual share links; and

  • delete sharing data associated with the current installation.

Depending on where you live, privacy law may also provide rights relating to personal information, such as rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restrictions on certain uses.

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify the request and locate the applicable records.

Algo does not currently maintain conventional user accounts, so our ability to identify records is based primarily on installation-specific information and, where necessary, information such as a relevant share link.

15. Children and age eligibility

Algo is designed primarily for users age 18 and older.

Algo is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Algo's features, service providers, or information practices change.

Changes will be posted with an updated effective date.

Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a material change, we will provide that notice or request that consent as required.
